I'm torn between a rooftop tent (£1k plus roofrack) and an Oztent (£700) for quick set up and thought about something for when I want to camp but also use the truck to explore. So I decided to take the plunge on a decathlon inflatable jobbie just to see how useful it is.
Lastnight was to night to have a play and I headed off to Cwm Bychan.
I bought an awning extension to go with the existing awning and tent configuration, unfortunately the seller didn't tell me that it was an either or situation. I could either use the tent ot the awning extension. Which was not what I asked for (negative point seller).
Tent valeting Services Ltd of Bolton to the rescue and now I can use the tent plus the awning.

Unfortunately it can take a bit of time to set up and the truck can't move once set, nor is their adequate protection while cooking at the back of the truck.
I have played with tarps and awninng rails unsuccessfully and couldn't see an way forward until the recent heavy rain and a visit to Decathlon.
Et voila!

For when the weather is bad, the tent completely covers the kitchen and has enough room for the cot.

Or open it up a bit when the weather is good. Surprisingly it only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

Even the door is on the right side.
I'll see how useful it's going to be, especially as it allows for drive away camps.
There are a lot of guy ropes though.
