Need new battery for the truck. existing is a 80amp and plates are badly warped, still starts but can't last much longer tho', sure it's the original one.
Read all threads on batteries, types and costs. Checked out Tanya Batteries
does anyone know if these will suit? http://www.tayna.co.uk/catalog/586/0/Marine/Boat-Batteries-Numax-Sealed-Marine-Batteries-page1.html

Whats the difference in Marine Cranking Amps and CCA? javascript:emoticon('')
Embarassed The 105amp is £20 quid cheaper that the Numax car type.javascript:emoticon(':?:')
Question - and they look good

Bought a battery 3 months ago it was £30, theres arecent thread on batteries, have a search for it.

CCA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 0 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

MCA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 32 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

CA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 80 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

The same battery looks a lot better on paper if it is rated in MCA or CA rather than CCA. BEWARE!!!

RBRT - Thanks very much for the information on the amps. So a battery rated at 1000 amps MCA would be much lower if CCA? Is there a straight correlation between the temperature difference for this?

Cheers

maybe bit more cranking in freezing weather thatd be only reason although good diesel should thrive on cold weather

slightly off topic but this company sells all sorts of 4x4 stuff

http://www.arbil4x4.co.uk/

they do special h/duty batteries

i tried for a job there a few weeks ago but didnt get past second post

I got my battery from ats. £86.00 They delivered and fitted it for me.. Cos me truck was dead 1 morning and i needed to get to work.. They said it also had a 3 year warranty on it...

Dont forget your local Nissan dealer i bought one in May 2002 for £59.93 from then and its still going strong, and of course they shoud supply you with the correct battery

Its worth considering places like quick fit as they provide good gaurantee periods. Found them quite reasonable on my last car although no idea how much battery is for T2.

I wont put anything but Optima batteries on any of my vehicles now. I have a Red top on my Galaxy and a Red top and Yellow top on my Maverick. Yes they are expensive but more than worth it for reliability and performance.
