Decided to wash the terrano today, found some light surface rust where my wheels have been rubbing my chassis legs...

Ive got to do something about this...

As I am looking to transform the beast some more too I was looking at going for some crazy wheels, perhaps some -40 offset wheels?

My tyres are still plenty legal but starting to age nicely, I think they only have about 8mm left

Come on chaps, suggestions please? I defo need some crazy offset wheels, which means I will need to makeshift some arches, guess I should avoid going bigger due to steering stress. My draglink has a lot of play in it too

I struggle with mine on the front even though I've cut everything I can away.
Mine are -35 10" deep dish.

Are they wider than arches?

I've got 30mm spacers too :naughty

Might pay to adjust your lock stops a bit to see if that helps or don't turn the steering wheel as far:lol

You still got the stock bump stops or have you done away with them.:nenau
When the rubbers fell off my bump stops I replaced them with some cheapo land rover ones as I was getting a bit of contact with the body on full articulation.

It's all about the offset and NOT SPACERS euw
With 35s on mine and full flex the tyre just kisses the inner wheel house tub, just :p
No bump stops at all at the back of mine :sly

and those tyres were 12.5" wide :naughty

So the answer is offset then :thumb2

Can anyone link me some good offset wheels. I may bin my plastic arches too and make some custom ones to adhere to the law

Come on payday!!

Oh and I think the bump stops are still there

Double o shaped rubber?

Alex I need to look on my wheels to see what the offset is as I can't remember anymore :hmh I'll try and remember for you :thumbs

Ok cheers for advise chaps,

Yes please dude if you can remember id be grateful.

And noted about arches, perhaps I could make some custom ones?

To match my bumpers :augie :naughty

With some time & lots of fibreglass standard arches could be extended out further or a set of later Patrol (Y61 think it is) or even shogun arches could go on with a bit of trimming & fibreglass work if you wanted a meaner factory look:augie there was a set of used Icelandic arches up for sale around Xmas for 470 Euro for 33-35" tyres on Fjallasport's page:thumbs

Then there is something wrong with your suspension, im running 10x15 rims with -44 offset and32 inch tires with no rub... that was before lifting it.

Have not checked? Perhaps stops are missing? Shockies are fairly new... Wheels I currently have unfortunately I think have a positive offset

Your castor may be set back to far, or lower arm bushes may be worn out allowing the hub to sit too close to the rear of the wheel arch.
