well, i am planning on doing a long over due service on my Maverick. Mileage wise, its just about due, year wise, its over due!

anyway, i have bought mi oil, oil filter, fuel filter (already changed this a few year ago....) LSD oil and i think thats it for a basic service.

now, I understand about removing the top filler bolts on the rear LSD but...do i replace this and the lower one? do I replace the washers? If so, where do I actually get new sump plugs/washers from that are suitable for the LSD and OIL sump?? I cant find them anywhere, but i may not be looking properly!

what tool do i need for the LSD filler plug? any tips with regards filling?

I have read about accessing the oil filter from the arch, so thats ok, and I believe its about 6.75 litres? any tips with regards this or is it just a straight forward oil change (have done a few on my old Mazdas which were a bit awkward)..

erm, thats it really, i suppose i need more guidance with regards the LSD...

thanks in advance !

just a quick note; make sure you can remove the filler plug before you remove the drain plug!otherwise you will have a problem filling. as far as i can remember it is a square drive plug, not sure of the size just a bit bigger than 1/2 inch drive bar.

straight forward oil change, i think it was about 7.2 lt with oil filter, make sure your drain pan is big enough.

and yes i also find it easyier to remove the front nearside wheel to access through the wheel arch to change the filter good luck

LSD is for the rear and LS is for the front the 1lt bottles usualy come with a pipe so you can squeeze the oil from the plastic bottle

thanks for that, and, i just realised...how MUCH LSD oil do I need?!? arrgghh bugger, i just went onto Milners and ordered a bottle without checking!

comma is the bestest clive , it comes in red bottles wiv a spout innit :thumb2

i agree i also used comma, alot cheaper from local motor factors than going to half frauds ! i think i bought 3lts in 1lt bottles with a bit left over, in my previous reply the 7.2lt was refering to the engine oil, hope i didnt confuse.

personally clive, i wouldnt mix it , but then i know nuffin , someone will be along later with more knowledge than me to comment

no confusion! I have 10Lts of Engine oil, but only 1 ltr of LSD oil from Milners, but i need to know, if I can mix it with two bottles of Comma! Either that, or i just buy three new bottles from Wilco and keep the Milners one for spare!!

surely you can mix them>? its the same grade...

that link doesnt show me anything, but the one i got is Fusch Titan 80/90...

Do not mix LSD oil from different manufactures, it is not worth it, just get the right amount from Comma, no washers on diff/gearbox plugs they are taper thread and self seal, Rick
