Need Info

Hi all,

As you know I have only had my Terrano for two days, but would like to crack on with some minor niggles. To date I have fixed the heater fan speed, the LCD display and am in the middle of renewing all cluster light bulbs while it is out and trying to get the heater cable control out to fix the broken cable clip.

Things I need to know and that I can't find via a search or in the manual I have.

1) The clips that hold the top panel around the speedo cluster to the lower panel, is there a trick to part them or is it just a sharp pull?

2) Front fog light operation. I assume that the front fog lights are the small round light beside the head lights? I can't get them both to come on or a light on the dash if there is one when using the stalk control.

3) Power steering fluid, do you check it while the engine is running. Manual does not say.

I think I know how to get to the heater cable control :augie

Can't help on the clips, not done that bit.

There is no warning light for the front fogs, and the front fogs only come on when the side lights, and/or head lights are on.

Power steering should be when the system is warm, but not with the engine running... well that was how I was taught to check it...

I got a light that come on the dash when I put on just the front fogs and I have another for the rear fog

hmmm... What year is yours then? Mine is a 1999, and it only has one for the rear fogs, not the front.

Both my 2001 and 2005 have the warning light on for front and rear fogs

Power steering fluid, I would say check when the engine is off, it's only automatic gearbox oil that you check when the engine is running...as far as I know.

My manual says that there should be a light on the dash for the front fogs.

At the moment I have just about dismantelled every plastic panel on the front dash to get that damn heater hot/cold control out. Now I have access to it, I will do the fix tomorrow - drill and PC screws to hold the cable outer on the control. I think I may do the direction control cable while I am there

If I can remember where everything goes and what screws goes where it will be a bl@@dy miracle :augie

I always try to put screws back into the hole they came out of, as I go along.

Your's is the same T2 as mine, a post 2000 face lift 2.7SE+ auto, It should have two warning lights, one for the front fogs and one for the rear,The fog lights will only come on when the side lights or head lights are on, if there is no lights then it must be a bulb, did you check them when you fixed the LCD display?
