Hi All, can someone help me locate, preferably local to MK45, a Pair of Front Window Winders please.
I have seen some videos showing me how to do it, I took the door pads off yesterday to check the power was getting to the motor from the switch, that was ok, so it has to be both electric motors.
The two rear doors are in the same boat i think, but first i'll be very pleased to get the front windows going up and down again for the summer !!!!
I aint got Air Con, I aint got a CD player, and the speedo display is US as well.
O yes, i have a W reg. D20 terrano 2 4 door 2.7 diesel. if that helps.

if you can Help or offer ANY advice whatsoever please get in touch, thanks.
I dont really want to chuck it away :)

Have I got this right, all four windows won't work?

If that's the case then surely there is something else like a controller between switchs and motors.

Have you checked if there is power getting to the motors? Watch out you dont trap your fingers playing with the windows.

As for your speedo there are a couple of people on here that fixed theirs, sure one of them posted photos and a description of what to do. Basically a line of solder joints need resoldering.

Hi Jim, thanks for taking the time and trouble to reply to my post.

So far i have only checked the two front window winder motors, i have removed the plug that fits onto both front door motors, it has two wires going into the plug that fits onto the motor. I tested the voltage coming from this plug with a voltmeter and it read 12v each time the window buttons were pressed, with no volts shown when the button wasnt pressed.
On all four doors I believe the failure to open has been gradually getting worse over a long period of time.
It is my daughters motor she drives it all the time, i do know that none of them have opened for ages !!!!.
Thanks for the 'heads up" on the Speedo, do you mean the failure to display the speed etc. is solely caused by faulty solder joints that can be repaired !.

Hi, well ok I'll hold my hands up it does sound like motors doesn't it. Drop Zippy a pm to see if he can give you contact details for CNCFabs, hes generally got a few motors breaking.
Right normal fault on speedo cluster is the LCD display for mileage and stuff, thats the normal fault.
So do you mean the actaul speedo clock is hit and miss?

Thanks Jim, i will ask Zippy :)

As for the exact problem with the speedo, i reckon my daughter, the full time driver of the motor, will know more about the exact trouble with it, no doubt she will tell me in due course.

maka sure not just simply stuck, my rear windows tend to stick and the engine has to be running to free them and i just wiggle the switches back and forth quickly and they unstick

Thanks "Mobieus", that is a darned good suggestion, i will give that a go when the regular driver (my daughter) comes to visit :)

Hi All, just a quickie to let you all know, how i am getting on with the Windows Regulator task i have/had.
Thanks to Jims Terrano, I got in touch with "Zippy", who kindly enabled me to get in touch with "CNC Fabs" who posted me off a set of 4 window regulators, they came last thursday, thanks "cnc fabs"

All i need now is access to the vehicle to be able to do the work required !, trouble is must be such a desirable motor to drive, despite the windows not opening, that i cant get my grubby little hands anywhere near it !!!!

Thanks "jims-terrano" i can NOW happily report that your suggestion to contact "Zippy" came up trumps, "CNCFabs" he is a fantastic fella, he had exactly what i needed, during two nights last week i was able to get all four doors fixed up with Up and Down windows :)
