As above, my car is on the ramps at the moment at work because of my stupidity of thinking I could replace my own wheel bearings :doh:doh:(:(

I've been told by the mechanic that I've done so much damage that it would be easier to just replace the whole lot, ie hub, bearings, free running hub etc etc

Do any of you guys have any of these items, preferably near to the West Midlands or if worst comes to worst even post it, I don't care how much it costs it beats paying £460 from Ford or even £354 from Nissan :(

I'm desperate to get my car back on the road as I'm bus hopping at the moment, I'm so lost without it, any jobs like this in future will be left to the professionals, I really should have took Kamsin's advice on the other thread :(

Thanks in advance guys

Has it got abs

Stinka has a pair of hubs he can't use that he bought from Fez, might be worth a PM :thumb2

Sorry for the lack of posts of late guys but I've just been very busy and life has been a bit of a bitch to me of late.

I'd go as far as saying last week was the worst week of my life!!!!

Buy hey ho, it's Monday so lets just hope my luck is in :D

I didn't need to replace the hub in the end I only needed a new free-wheeling hub and a new bearing kit.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to ShropshireTerranoBreaker for his super speedy removal of said free-wheeling hub even if it did mean him tipping a Maverick on it's side in the rain to get it off for me lmao

Just a quick question though and your probably all going to laugh at me for asking it but am I right in saying that when my Mav is in 2WD I will only get drive from the rear wheels and when I put it in 4WD I get all for obviously?

I could have swore that it was FWD when in 2WD :S although this would explain why I keep getting the backend out in the wet and not realising why

Sounds like you should buy a ford fiesta and dont touch it as you are JUST PLAIN DANGEROUS :p

Only kidding mate, glad u got sorted

haha my first car was a Ford Fiesta 1.8D that I inherited from my nan lol
I managed to replace the clutch on that myself with a friend on the drive lol but yet I managed to nacker up something as easy as a straight forward wheel bearing swap lol

no in two wheel you only drive the rear axle, but if you were getting rear end slide on wet roundabouts etc, you need to change the rear diff oil, it is rather special for limited slip diffs which is what you have, look on the comma site, Rick
