Bloody ell :doh

Not the terrano falling on my head either :nenau

Riding home on the a40 all traffic doing about 60mph, I am filtering past most sensibly, fast lane dumper truck with the huge tyres has not seen the traffic slow right down infront...

All of a sudden he hits the brakes so hard he goes instantly sideways and immediately into my central lane, in panic i come off the gas but cant brake as there if traffic in all lanes  and I lean left just missing his tyre which is mega close to me!!!

Reckon I was about 4-6 inches from death. Probably the scariest thing...

Not sure if they crashed after? :nenau

My nearest dice with death was a stupid attempted overtake of an artic on a roundabout, I thought he was going straight on to the second exit:doh
Wrong he was taking the third:eek::eek:
The trailer was set to wipe me off so I had to bank hard to survive, luckinly in those days 1950's there was no side guards:bow
Tailer bed passed over my head a foot or two whew:doh:doh
Since then artics have been treated with caution and respect much to the annoyance of following motorists
I hasten to add I had only passed my test a few weeks before & thought I knew how to ride safely.

My nearest [apart from falling out of a tree onto a fence post that broke 5 ribs ouch!!] was when I was a stupid 18 year old on a motorbike. Was overtaking a lorry when he started to turn right, had to bob down to go under his rear view mirror, they say your life flashes before you and honestly it was just like a video in fast forward inside my head, was very surreal and thought I was a gonner, it was that close my shoulder brushed across the front corner of the lorry, was doing about 50mph at the time.

Nearly dieying is a regular occurance for a Troll owner when working out MPG:nenau

put in fuel...

put in PIN...

drive a bit...

.........

Repeat:)

Try the tyre size calculator :D
37"s work out at 72 mph when the clock says 60 so that should be a 20% fuel saving:clap

So 8mpg is really 10 mpg Wow do I feel better for that bit of maths:(

Most of my left arm is held together with metalwork as a result of one near death episode on the Kwakka.

:thumb2 Great though innit? Makes you feel alive.

I would rather a brown trouser moment any day, compared to a broken or ripped off limb :)
Oddly it didnt really hurt until after the first bout of surgery. The epinephrine rush, and the gas and air I got when they popped my shoulder back in and reduced the fractures in A&E kept the pain in check.
Leathers though - without them the injuries would have been so much worse.

My gloves and pants were shredded, My lid fit only for the bin. The jacket escaped relatively unscathed. It makes my teeth itch seeing bikers out in T shirts and shorts.

Probably worst was in works pickup, a Nissan 2wd few years before got T2 so obviously
didnt put me off the marque,

Left hand bend uphill so power on but not excessive, rear end decided to break lose
and did a 270 degree spin. Towbar land in hedge, thinks oh that wasnt too bad.

But not over, should have carried on spinning but towbar hooks on a fence wire so truck
rolls 360 in direction of travel, (now side ways), onto wheels again.

Wow that was fun watching my things fly around me, but no not over yet, spring effect
in wire, which didnt break, only rolls me back 360 sideways.

Barely a mark on truck, or me. Thanks to seatbelt and glad was pickup so in cab with
nothing heavy, just rest of day of.....

Blimey, that'd be a good £250 to you've been framed :lol

yeah, maybe oil on road, mind not long before it had been used to drag a 4 tonne
bus back to yard, on a chain! so much for gross train weight,
