Hi all,
I know its not 4x4 related but im desparate the Seat website is nowt like as helpfull as you.
I got home yest and the car wouldn't engage rev gear managed to get in rev but found i'd lost 1st and 2nd gear. Checked linkages all seem fine tried tweeking it and still no joy. Goes into position but no drive, or "clunk" of gear engagement.
Im thinking gearbox but no new noises or grinding just instant loss of gears.
As i say its ot for you but thought i'd give you guys a try as you've proved more usefull than those at my seat site.

thanks in advance Ryan

depending on the age and model i have come across this prob before on a cupra r were the remote bolts to the gearbox the top mounting had cracked giving the feeling of gear selection.
I hope this is your prob as its relativly cheap and easy to fix

Thanks for the quick response,
How would i tell if its this prob, mine is a 01 plate cupra (not the R boo hiss!)
