Most snorkels come in through the wing behind the air filter, and you then mod the air filter housing to block off the old intake, and put a new one on the rear for the snorkel. This means the air has less bends to go round. Unfortunately, as you have stated, on the ones with ABS, there is a big lump in the way to stop this.
I believe there is one that brings it in the front, using the same air filter housing intake as the existing air input, but that only works if you do not have a second battery, or headlamp washers (although this could be moved).
