Does anyone know if the pump on 2.7tdi is coded to the ecu.Selling engine buyer says he wants the ecu and key fobs.I thought you could just change the engine and use the existing ecu.:nenau

let him have it and charge them..
Yes was thinking what but its an interesting point that lots of engines on ebay without ecu.I just email someone on ebay selling ecu on its own just come back and said the ecu would definetly need coding to car.So if this person buys my engine and puts my ecu would it cause other problems with integrated electronics eg some cars have no radio codes as they are matched to ecu

you can if its the same injection system i.e ur pump on ur engine has to be bosch if thats what the buyer has in his car i have just bought a bosch injection pump from nissan1st fitted and starts and drives with my orginal ecu i think i remember seeing somewhere on here that the nats system has a seperat ecu from the engine so the guy could still use his keys as long as they were progamed to his nats in his car hope that helps

depends if it is NATS 1 or NATS 2 NATS 1 can be got around NATS 2 no, Rick

The VP37 type pump which is normally fitted to the TD27i has zip all intelligence, it is electric not electronic. There is no coding or otherwise between this type of IP and the ECU.
The ECU has no way of identifying this type of IP from any other.

The VP44 (ZD30) is very different, this IP has complex embedded electronics within. It is controlled by a CAN bus from the ECU and they are, to an extent almost inseparable partners!
