my tyre exploded

just driving along with my mrs at 40 suddenly my tyre exploded with the force it blew of the chrome centre cap across the road & went with a fair old bang :doh, . i knew i was getting ready for 3 new tyres but with the expence of xmas i thought id hang on a while, this crapped the hell outta me gave no warning , i will be investing in 3 new boots now for terrano 235/70x16 suppose this aint gonna be cheap:bow

you might want to get four im sure they should be similar depth tread across the axel..

Best to have same on rear axle, to save overworking the lsd

ideally needs to be same across BOTH axels, or the same on all 4 as opposed to a mix....

Well you have 5 tyres, you would be lucky to find 2 the same, unless you rotate them regularly.
So I think both the same at the rear, otherwise it could be even livelier at the rear especially when wet.

Then choose two for the front.
But I agree both axles should be matched side to side.

i agree yeah all 4 should be of same tread depth stops the diff winding up & its even better if u can get same make but i was in the tyre trade 16yrs & on budget makes theres thousands , only week ago i replaced the 1 new one on rear so looks like am going back to get another 3, last week i travelled 165mile & 45 was motorway doing 80 only too glad it didnt go then:bow

yeah am glancing around at the moment , but i start back work mon & with a flat spare i feel much more happy with a new one on zippy, plus i normally clock up around 850 miles a mth dont wanna push my luck :bow anyway ive got a rusty steel wheel on that looks a pig at mo::lol:lol
