Got any more of the wheel carrier?

Thinking of getting the local blacksmith to fab me up something to bolt to the big captive nuts left in the end of the chassis rail after I removed the bumper, not keen on having the weight of a 33" tyre and steel on the barn door.

Will have a look. Big tyres crack the doors on the y61 and buggers the hinges.

Cheers bud, that's exactly why I'm wanting to fit a swing away! :thumbs

I am going to start making a rear bumper with swing away wheel carrier shortly for my Y61 some sort of cross between arb and kaymar, I am just in the process of re rustproofing the underside of the trol at the moment, looks like it was dinitroled from new as the paint is still on a lot of the chassis and floor when I scrape the coating off so I am using dinitrol again £128 for a full large car kit which includes cavity wax. When I make the bumper I will make templates so it can be reproduced, I don't really like the look of tubular bars on Y61's...

Will put up some pics of the rust proofing process as I go...

Nice work. Do you know of anyone in the area that can fab a front winch bumper up. The cost of an arb one and similar is shocking?

To be honest having been out of the country for nearly 10 years I don't really know anyone locally who can build you one, I don't get enough time to offer to help otherwise I would.. I will be making a front winch bumper and will make templates.. Possibly moving back to NZ in around 8 months if everything falls into place so if I get templates made you can have them

Arb are expensive all over the world and when you see the factory you realise why, its enormous and state of the art, they do a budget basic range in oz and NZ for farm/mining type vehicles but a bit ugly with no frills but cheaper.

Try these guys, not local though.

Or try r and c they do fab work.

Worth a go.

Are you going for a play at avon dassett tomorrow??

I wish i was going to avon dasset but i work a weekend shift so working tomorrow im afraid. The hills should be passable with the dry weather but still easy enough to damage the truck. Have fun...

The disco and rangey would look good together lol :p

Need to do some lanes if you fancy it. Might go out Tuesday night for a bit

ahh right, I do love that rangerover though.

Been reading your build thread, can't post there yet as I'm not a full member, epic mate. Wish I lived closer I would be round to help with the build.. What lift are you putting in 3"?? If you can get EFS springs and shocks they are awesome and suit the patrol perfectly, if you do go 3" the rear lower arms could do with being 18mm longer to square up the rear axle....sorry I just get all excited about patrols you probably have done your own research....

Thanks, Could do with the help sometimes.

Not sure on susp lift, But going to try and keep it as low as possible so will try and cut metal away if possible. Maybe 2" max as it's already had a 2" body lift. Seems to be a big money pit right now and decent susp is expensive!
