Love it :D Now show me again with them off so I can copy you

The more lights the better, I have fitted 2 x 5 watt side lights in the Brake lights on my Mav, as I thought the original side lights are too low in my opinion.

certainly different, tower led? brake lights.

quite still fancy doing indicator and tail marker
clusters on roof as those in bumper are pretty
low for anyone but the first car behind to see.

They are just L.E.D flexible strips wired up as extra side lights from evilbay £3.50ish for 2 and stuck on with 3m tape. Im fitting white ones around headlights in next few days. will take pic in daylight to show with them off.
Thanx for comments guys:D. Im well happy with them.

Hey Rustic, that sounds like a good idea. How did you do that? any chance of a pic or two?

Jim

your extra lights in wing brakes look good, reverse i
presume/recall.

so where are your tail lights and fog.
Stop and tail are the high ones and then cut the reverse into the reflector part. Indicators cut into metal work. High level brake light was going to be the fog but seems that's not allowed :doh

Mmm, I might try and make my terrano look like a christmas tree :lol

Hi Jim,
I experimented with all sorts, ballast resistor and diode to partially illuminate the current brake light, but in the end I drilled a 10+ mm hole in the rear reflector and soldered one of the small 5 watt wire ended bulbs ( Sidelight bulbs) to a small piece of vero board, and that attaches to the reflector by a small screw. Some epoxy on the back of the veroboard to hold the bulb and wires in place.
I made up 3, one as a spare.

Others have bought bespoke bulb holders, but I carry so much junk, ( Wife's words not mine ) I have to justify it sometimes.

They've probably been in place 10 years now.
A few years back this was also covered in a thread, but nobody made a download.

I do disconnect them at MOT time just in case.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,
Richard

Daylight view just for you Makeitfit:D

So where is your rear guard fog light?

If only one is fitted it must be on the off side, and should be at least 4" away from the brake lights.

You may have to consider putting one or 2 in your steel bumper :nenau

I wired them into the number plate light in the n/s door, just meant i had to feed o/s wire across boot floor which i will tidy up at weekend
