Hi peeps, I don't know if anyone could help me but my dads got a 2004 x trail 2.2 dci. Going back a few weeks ago the near side front brake was binding so being the perfect son I am I managed to free it off. Today now the other side has started to do exactly the same. Is it common on the x trails and also is there some sort of pressure valve which could cause these symptoms ?? :thumb2

I pushed the pistons out, slapped a bit of copper slip on them and worked it in and out for a bit. It's made it a lot better but not 100% but now the other side is playing up ??

Just out of interest do Xtrails have the Reno electric parking brake system? if it has then it'll be that without a shadow of a doubt.

That's really common issue on the xtrail if your lucky you can free them off like you did before
Normal handbrake on that model

Yeah the near side had a sticky piston which wasn't returning
