Awesome cup holder mod and I'm sure makeitfit will be along later to ask you where you got the idea from to make that intercooler fan :augie

Does yours have water sprayers as well?

I had a branch go through the AC heat exchanger in front of the radiator so didn't bother repairing it just removed it and the condensor. (with the onboard air pump in mind)

The fan was easy... if your truck has AC take the fan off the front and sit it on top of the intercooler. close bonnet. lol
I used the factory relay also it turns on via the A/C button on the dash(since it was/became redundant.)

The intake for the AC pump is now plumbed into the engine breather to help with lubrication. the outlet goes to the tank at the rear of the truck.

I'm on the search for the setup from a WRX impreza. I intend to wire it up to a switch on the accelerator to turn on at WOT.

Fit an air charge temp gauge on the intake, so the fan comes on when air is hot and off again when cool. Simple thermistor but I can't remember the figures right now (pissed following poker defeat :( )
I used the Subaru switch but modified another windscreen washer bottle n pump to do the squirting :thumbs

Impressed with your mods Bud, think the insurance costs would kill me if I were to do that. I like the cup holder thing too, might try that with my ham radio.

here in nz you are more then welcome to modify your vehicle's as the insurance company's do an agreed value on modified vehicles.

we have inspectors here in nz that are called low volume vehicle certifiers and are soley incharge of inspecting and ensuring modified cars are safe to operate on the roads..these people have a background in motorsport, heavy trade vehicles, automotive engineering etc.....

basically you sit down with your broker and discuss what you would want to do if it was written off/stolen vs the what you intend to do with your vehicle. that is the base line.
(risk calculation)
e.g. are you a hard core off roader or a three times a year family trip type offroader.

Then you discuss what the modifications are worth to you as the owner and if you are prepared or happy with just replacing the vehicle without the mods or want to add the value of purchasing those mods again for your next truck.

One they have a total figure you basically pay to insure that sum of money as apposed to the actual vehicle.

other factors involved are of course full drivers licence holder age of the driver or drivers the area you live the type of vehicle (is it a popular model with car thieve's) 5 star alarm imobiliser GPS tracker etc.

mine is insured for 14 grand and cost's 23 dollars a month.

Sounds like a better system than in the UK. Here it's like a game I think for the insurance companies, they'll try everything to wriggle out of paying. I once enquired about a second battery simply for camping purposes but the till started ringing and the pound signs started flashing, was told I couldn't do it myself too.
