multi 'V' belts?

Are there any upgrades for the power steering pump belt from 'V' to multi 'V' belt set up? 2.7tdi 2001 engine

Why is it slipping ?

Belt was new this year and was tight, just noticed it slipping when out in the deep snow. I am surprised it is a single 'V' in this day and age.

Belts are interchangeable AFAIK, my water pump one on my '96 Mav td27 was a "V" and I switched it for one of the new styles
