So stuck it on the hoist Sat am for a look and decided it had got to the stage that it needed a good grit blast off and a coat of Shutz all over, so this is a part of the rear

Found a bit of rot, but as it is more than 300 mm from the body mount will leave it for now

Must be great having a grit blaster.

Are you sure it’ll get through MOT with that rot?

This is a seat belt mount I repaired over 5 years ago, noticed some surface rust was getting started so blasted it and given it a nice coat of Schutz, should last the Mrs out, but that is all for today as this was 5.15pm and booked in for inauguration meal at Olive & Coal at 6pm, yes it was a damn good meal, Rick

Should be fine Jim, as I say it is more than 300 mm from the body mount, it is not as if this was a monocoque body, we have a chassis, Rick

What did you clean up with Rick? Sand Blaster?

You talking about me? to be honest I did not get much of the black on me so a good soak in a hot bath was all that was needed, just going to go out and do some more, also found the cross rod needs replacing and the tail section of the exhaust, other that that it looks good, oh and having the windscreen replaced on Thursday, and I will touch up the rusty bit then, Rick

I meant the body and chassis not you!!!!! :lol

Looks like you cleaned it up quite quickly

Grit blaster Zac it is mentioned several times in the post's, I used around 80 to 100 Kg of sand, I left it on the floor to soak up the underseal drips, this pic is of the OSR wheel arch seat belt mount that I did over 5 years ago, and still good so cleaned it up ready for Mr Schutz
