Never bothered to work it out but I reckon about 25mpg.
On the run when i was bringing the truck back from Durham I was getting about 35mpg at a steady 70mph.

oh i would be very happy with 25 mpg thats more than i get out of my saab (soon to be for sale)

impressed, my 3.0 4cyl gives around 22 urban and towing,
mid to late 20s on a steady solo run.

i try not to think about it, but its useful to have an idea
for calculating overall range. tend to get about 120 per
quarter segment of guage, appreciate isnt that precise.

i put £75 in and got 325 miles with a couple of jurneys 35 miles long. didnt think it was too good. BUT today i changed the air filter and it feels like a different car, more grunt...im amazed how a cheep part can transform the motor. the old filter was nackered but its in the bin now:D

yesterday i had to go to withernsea for a ferret and it was 90 miles each way and i put £40 in and used the chuffing lot:nenau i was hoping for a few more mpg but only managed 23mpg. i did hit 75pmh and there were roadworks so the speed limit was 50 for a few miles but largely i was doing 60/70mph.. is 24 bad on a run or are my expectations to high?

my mistral just about does that on a run lol

Going on about this thread, is there a rev range that's more economic to keep within?

I drive artics sometimes and the mercs have a 'green' range, from about 1000 to 2000 rpm, anything outside that you get less torque and less fuel efficiency, also the turbo works best over this range. Admitidly they only do about 6 - 8 mpg on a good run..lol

I've tried keeping my T2 within this range, but I get some bad ass engine vibration at the lower revs when accelerating and I noticed that the turbo doesn't kick in until over 2k rpm. Just wondered if anyone know of an efficient rpm to keep the T2 in.

i have a " economy mode " switch on my mistral , its great for motorway runs , but still only get around 24 mpg on a run

on a t2 prob around 2500, tend to get a feel for where car is happy.
drive to comfort, not dials. though best to check not exceeding
limit.

on both my t2 and trol, find mid 60s about right, sit back and enjoy
the pratts buzzing past, then hitting their brake lights as you
ease off gently having seen the issue from higher viewpoint.

tbh its same with caravan on, if i do an indicated 65 then with
speedo 10% error it really only 60 but keeps me ahead of the wagons
and only a few white vans then cause any air turbulence.

much of this and the tyres make themselves known.
