Got off to a shaky start when first bought my T2, clutch problem that just escalated to "have i done the rite thing" and the wife hating it. finally got sorted and the wife on side.
Well been trouble free for a while now, and took the T2 on its longest journey since owning it,- from Cannock Staffs down to Weymouth, had an enjoyable week at a very fine site. then on return called back at home and hitched up my 13 ft caravan and continued on to some friends up at Grimsby, all in all around 340 miles.
Did the most accurate test that you can on the MPG,- from a full tank till almost running out. Was returning 32 mpg, well chuffed with that, but have to say i was very light on the rite foot, never venturing above 65 at any time.
What dya reckon guys?

sounds ecellent, just done a solo trip to newquay, 400+ miles each way @ 33mpg. towed our 12ft to littlelsea weymouth in sept vai cc site @ baltic : wharf bristol @ 26mpg, so you are doing very well. I try to keep below 2500rpm.....regards..bri

Thinks I need to do some longer journeys... my TDi was 26mpg on last tank and 27mpg tank before.... lots of stop start round town stuff obviously doesnt help!! and thats with a light right foot

Gas guzzlers ehh........... -rotfl-

Stoph your MPG still aint bad for round town stop n start stuff.

Phew, I feel better now

Best I've managed was somewhere just over thirty but that wasnt too much effort. With the van on the back , I darent work it out :!:

I've given up working out what my MPG is due to health reasons as I get depresed  so I just floor it these days & my fuel gauge waves hello to me  but the gauge must get tired as it's poor little arm go's down rather fast

Driving at a steady 90mph fully loaded, roofrack on and big mud tyres I get 46mpg from my 2.4 petrol.

You diesel guys must be peeved

8O so now I'm almost suicidal
HOW do you do it?
My poo 2.4 is doing well to get to 70 mph (corrected for tyres etc)and mpg around 25 is about it
Have you got some special chip on your ecu or proper tidy go juice where you live?
I want some , whatever it is..........

I live on a reasonable large hill. The trouble is getting up it in the first place :? Mind you I do get to use all my gears at the mo :|

With the fuel now cheaper I get upto 56mpg at a steady 90mph

22mpg without van on !, 19mpg with !.
I think I need an intercooler and a manual gearbox :(
