Well it is due again, gave it a quick look today while changing the off road wheels, disk pads all round worn low, but disks and pads all changed only months ago, Slindon aggressive mud to blame, new pads after MOT not now as no time to bed in, slider pins also sticky, front wheel bearings need adjusting, and above all a complete jet wash under as full of mud, busy day tomorrow, Rick

OSF wheel bearing had some play so set about sorting that, but decided to at long last make a tool to do it properly, hunted around and found an old box spanner just the right size, so made 4 cuts to position the two pins and cut the rest off to leave the two pins protruding about 5mm trimmed them gently to just fit the two holes in the lock nut, made easy work of applying the 4 N MT pre_load required, will take a pic of it when got time, did not check but think maybe a bit of scaffold tube would also do the job, put it up on the lift today to check for off road damage and will have to spend an hour or so tomorrow high pressure jetting the massive amount of mud every where, as it stands they will refuse to test it, Rick

Passed

Nearly had a big problem today, with the frost I had no water for my pressure washer, hose frozen, luckily had another hose that would reach, jet washed it off and took it in, result was a pass and no advisories, so all good for another year, but going to order a complete set of brake pads, cos after another Slindon meet they will be goosed, Rick

While in the waiting room I heard it being reved for an overly long time for the emissions test, so was somewhat surprised when he said "all OK" so questioned him about the reving, turns out his machine was the problem, thing is I had intended to de tweek the pump but forgot, so now quite happy to leave as is, smokes a little when gunning hard but can live with that, I am often surprised at how quick 2.6 tonnes accelerates, the tester commented at how responsive it is to the throttle, Rick

Beat you to it, and I must try and do a meaningful 0 to 60 test one day, I have tried on my own and get about 9 seconds but doubt that can be right, need a co driver with a stop watch, Rick

Great when it passes !!

Good for another year great news!

Jeep WJ is due in January new front low pressure fuel lines being fitted next week.
