the cheapest way i have found when trying to get car ready for mot is take it to mot test station which do free retests if it fails just replace the bits that r needed and u get 10 working days to repair car thats 2weeks as they dont include weekends:thumbs

it's not free here:rolleyes:

Did that with mine .....passed but all that I thought it might fail on were advisories.Gave time then to fix then. David.

i don't mind getting the stuff, for once, ive actually got enough money :lol:lol

My dad's mate who's an mot tester said that I'll need to replace the rear bumper and wind down the torsions by half an inch.

Wtf does the torsion height have to do with mot ?

Unless its sat on the upper bump stops like mine was ?

Feck knows lol, all I know is he wants them down immediately. Gonna look like a hot rod:rolleyes:

head lamp aim maybe? cannot adjust low enough, all I can think of, Rick

it has to be its vosa who set standards not the garage themselves same as they cannot charge for a retest within the 10 day period, nor can they hit you with "but you too it off the property" its still free retest :thumbs

As long as there's no sharp (dangerous) parts on the bumper then you're ok :thumb2 Needs to be secure and not split, but even that can be gaffa taped. Sounds to me like you just need to fit the starter, take it in for the trst, then fix the things it fails on. Simples and you get 10 days to do it in free. Fact :thumbs
Torsion bar reduction is ballocks unless you've gone way too high and have your lights in the sky like Rick said. In which case it's your fault anyway

I'll have to ask about them, I admit, the torsions are high but not ridiculously. He says its putting stress on the joints

Well if it's higher at the front than the back then maybe so  That in itself isn't mot concern though.
