Easy things like wiper blades, washers and lights. Make sure all the seat belts work, look for any fraying on the seat belt edges, and if there is any that is not so bad that you think they would need changing, just use a lighter to singe off the fraying.

Make sure the hand brake is up to scratch

look for Rust on the fuel and brake pipes that run under the car and along the axle. I clean mine up with a greasy cloth.

Grease prop, if you have the nipples fitted, it helps reduce any visible play.

Other than that, you are in the luck of the MOT gods..:lol

I think they are looking at the dashboard warning lights now, I think they need to work and go off as required.

would that include the door open light. mine stays on when the doors are closed. I adjusted the the tail gate keep light went off. but now the light came back on and doors are closed properly

also the sills by the back wheel both have holes in does this matter as its the outer sill

Not sure mate, I would think, as long as the doors close and stay shut, that's what they would look for, I'm sure Ryan (96 terrano) will be able to help out with this problem.

I think it all depends on how close it is the things like seatbelt anchorage and where the body bolts the chassis, sure someone will fill you in though.
Have you googled MOT tests

Thats definite fail anything within 12" of body mount or seat belt anchorage is a fail.As i said before its easiest to take it in get the fail sheet if it fails then work through the list thats what you pay them for otherwise you end up doing more work than is necessary
