blasted truck has failed! o/s outer cv boot and insecure battery(wtf)!
i changed the n/s boot a few weeks ago so i guess i know what i will be doin saturday morning....:(
so, the battery that is on at the moment doesnt have the bottom "step" part that fits into the clasp, it is of the flat bottomed type. will it pass the retest with bungee chords(2) fitted? its as tite as a nuns purse with them fitted diagonally. its a decent battery so would rather not pay out. cheers, mike.

think yourself lucky mate should have seen my fail sheet lots and lots and lots of welding and quite a big advisory sheet to go with it:lol

Small ratchet strap to secure the battery is normally ok for the MOT.

Cheers Gav

At least it's a quick fix for M.o.t mate.

yep, the boot shouldnt take too long after doing the other one, new bj ordered too! it could have been worse as previously said, just bit peeved as i checked it when i did the other side or i wouldnt have taken it knowing it was faulty, hey ho!

job done, new ball joint was from delphi, it has a grease nipple on it!!! £17.50, and after shearing the bolts off the old one i would reccommend everyone considers how long their upper bj has been on. bolts snapped really easy because the threads were very nearly rusted thru! same happened on other side too, look like original fitments or i could have put it down to overtorque.
