It nearly upon me again

I'm a little worried as I feel there is still a lot to sort out and no time!!!

Here's what I have left to do;

Fit new rear windows (I'm currently windowless passengers side)
Replace Centre Exhaust Section
Replace Rear Shock Absorbers
Replace Passenger Side Brake Calliper
Waxoyl whole of underneath
Clean oil remnants from sump - It appears that I had a leak from my oil sump seal but looks as if it might have self sealed :nenau , if it starts leaking again I'll get it off and re-seal

That's all the MOT critical stuff I think, the other stuff I have to do is trivial like cleaning inside and out, and fitting some other new toys, re-wire my roof lights etc etc

Most of that should be easy enough for a man of your caliber.

Thanks buddy :thumb2 It's just time :(

The only thing I'm struggling with is trying to find some primered window bond to get these rear side windows in, closest I can see any from is Nottingham, I'm going to ring him in a few mins

Try Dow Corning 791, I have used this to reseal and fix my son sunroof on his old Mini, it works a treat, just needs a few hours to cure :thumb2

Managed to get me some proper bond now :thumb2

Popped to see Frank at Supreme Windscreens in Warwick who sold me a kit with 2 tubes of bond and all the primer etc etc for £15 :thumb2

Still in the process of cleaning all the gunk off the body from the several failed attempts at bonding the fibreglass boards in :doh

Rear Shocks

Rear shocks,
The hardest part on changing mine was getting the nuts off.
I had to use a 2 foot stud buster to get the top nut on near side loose so attempt that when you have the exhaust off
Spray plenty of WD 40 stuff on the bolts and wire brush the threads, if they get too tight coming off 1/4 turn back and 1/2 forwards should help
Run it up on ramps or jack up the axle other wise the axle will hang on the shock/s

Can't you use a nut splitter and replace the nuts.:nenau
Worst case you have to run a die over the stud to clean it up, and replace the nuts, which you should anyway...
Otherwise you run the risk of sheering the stud.

Re hanging off shocks..
I didn't know they were strong enough for that...:augie
Is this normal?

Hanging off shocks

Hi, the MOT garage who failed me on the broken shock advised me as above, those were his words, 'axle will hang on shocks' he said that would make getting them off the studs would be difficult
I know nuffin I listen to the guy who does it daily
