mistral ticks over but will not rev

i have a 1996 2.7td mistral lwb been faultless the last 18 months i have owned her but i drove to scotland on monday night some 500 miles after a couple of hundred miles engine occasionaly kicked back fuel was between quarter and half a tank but top speed was 60mph so i pulled off motorway and filled tank up and rejoined the motorway still no real power but got the other side of perth engine started to bog down with any throttle so i drained the fuel filter but no difference so called the aa out who said turbo u/s checked the turbo today spotless inside no play in shaft cracked each injector which made it want to stall even checked valve timing do these have a crank sensor on them does anyone else have any ideas

hi thanks for the reply where will i find this mini filter have changed air cleaner and fuel filter and now revs up to 3000rpm no probs smoothly so this mini filter if i can find it may sort

hi 1996 and before the mistrals are td only and have very limited electrickery.

no maf no ckp no fly by wire just a rattley old taxi engine with a turbo

check the mini filter as previous stated

i took your advise and removed the mini filter which was blocked cleaned and blew the airline in it and reassembled it it runs completley different now better than when i bought 18 months ago i would like to thank everyone who helped me resolve this problem perhaps the AA patrols should use this site as only took me 30 mins to fix and would have saved them a fortune in recovery cost from aberdeen scotland back to my home in gloucester some 500 miles AA diagnosed it as Turbo blown and not fixable they are supposed to be trained and have access to any test or information they need AA patrol did not even get anything from his vehicle a complaint now being sent to AA complaints

Got to be worth the tenner!!!!!
You get this when you start to use biodiesel as it cleans the crap out which ends up in the filters. Onced cleaned shouldn't re occur too soon. David.
