Some pics of a Mistral starter motor, worked perfectly when I took it out.
As said, it has had a knock, either when I took it out or sometime before that. i have asked a full time mechanic friend who also trains mechanics and another friend who is an engine builder, race car builder/driver and an AA man. They both said it was fine.
I'll let you decide, but wouldn't hesitate for a second to use it myself. The cable is only live while cranking and most come without any sheathing.

ahhh, thats alright, just a bit dirty. normally the cover goes right through over the wire, so thats peeled off a bit. can just tape it up before fitting. my old one was like that.

if you cant find brand new pete for the right price, go for this and see how it is.

Just a thought Briggie as yours is an Automatic it might have a higher output than one for a manual vehicle. This certainly used to be the case when I was in the car parts trade for a lot of manufacturers.

An automatic does not have a conventional flywheel as you have a torque convertor and flexi-plate instead, Sometimes the reach of the starter pinion used to be different. Its worth checking through your local Nissan dealer as they will know if its the same part number.

My R3mR had no engine number on the log book so I found it on the block and added it to the V55 by enclosing a covering letter as well as including it in the vehicle change section.
