Locking

I had a similar problem when I bought my Terrano. Also only locked using the key.However... I checked with Nissan and confirmed the remote frequency, bought two on fleabay (£10),did the code trick with the ignition and "hey presto" perfect remote central locking. The siren in the rear pillar had to be reconnected for the alarm to work but other than that no problems.
People disconnect the central locking /alarm because Nissan want silly money for a remote so cheaper to disable the system.
So check carefully before buying expensive bits as the system may be there already and just needs to be sorted.A clue could be that the indicators flash when you turn on the ignition.Good luck.:thumb2

My maverick didn't have an actuator on the drivers door either. Central locking was controlled by the drivers door lock or drivers intenal lock.
I fitted an actuator and wired this to the remote locking and alarm unit that I fitted.
I did this 15 years ago and has never let me down once. Quite easy to fit.
Hope this helps.
Best regards, Rustic
