Well was ment to be going to see cncfabs to pick up a front bar and power steering pump, however the maverick wouldn't start what so ever. The battery and the glow plugs are new so i thought id check the fuel side.Replace the fuel filter and thought id check the mini filter.Fallowed the tutorial on it and when i took the 17mm bolt off there was no spring and also cant seem to find the mini filter in there. So where would i be able to get one or would i have to a complete pump just to get this bit??

The lack of a mini filter will not be the reason it wont start, after all it has not been there for a long time, Rick

Thanks for that m8 and ive messaged them off.Put it all back together and tryed to start it and nothing. All im getting is smoke from the exhaust when im cranking it over.Did find a fuel leak from the priming pump with i did(was just a brass washed). It primes up fine but nothing.I drove it last nite and was fine then when i went out this morning it just wont fire up.

If you have white puffs of smoke from the exhaust, then you have fuel (might be at wrong time but you have fuel)

Have another look at the glow plugs.

One thing i forgot to say is that since ive had the car it always had trouble starting, sounds like its running on 3 cylinders,Then it chucks out black smoke then runs fine and when its warmed it will start ok.

Glow plugs are new,I got them from fleebay.Unless there dodgy. However i did chuck the old ones out now:doh

Try turning the ignition on and leave for 20-30 seconds before cranking over

You could have glow plugs from the Queen in little gold boxes, but if no power is reaching them, not much use.

If you have a volt meter DC 20volt range stick it on the glow plug wire, ignition on, good battery you should see about 11.8 to 12.2 volts higher than that and the plugs are fufd, Rick

Well after goin through it all it seems that ive no power going to the glow plugs.Checked the fuse and that seems fine.Got to blooming dark and that to check anything else so ill have a relook at it in the morning and see what i can see

Sounds like your glow plug solenoid is buggered:augie
It's hidden in the wing to the left of the battery. When mine went the solenoid was fine but the wire had corroded:doh Easy fix:thumbs
