Mini filter

I have been reading a lot about the mii filters fitted to the fuel pumps and am curious if anybody knows wether or not all mavericks and terranos have them or just the older square headlight versions

It,s only the older TD models that has the mini filter fitted. The TDI with the scoop on the bonnet for the intercooler never had one fitted.

am i right i presuming that the only one on a tdi would be the main one in the engine bay then?

on some tdi models the filter is in the actual banjo bolt.i think sweety removed his by drilling it out.

I have read a download with some pics in the download area regarding one underneath a banj-bolt just wondered if mine would have one too

my 1997 tdi didnt have one but other members with motor of same year have found one in theirs.only thing to do is have a look:nenau

If you have one it wont be under the banjo bolt as in the download it will be incorporated in the actual banjo bolt. Some tdi have it some don’t so you will have to remove an have a look

Yes I found I had a mini filter built into the banjo boltso I drilled it out as it would'nt come out freely:dohIf anyone does go this route in removing it either get a new banjo bolt or make sure you spend the time removing all the swarf:thumbs

my car is just the same fault !! where do i find the down loads, it revs to 2.5k , lacks power , as if on a limiter & clouds of white smoke ...help !!:doh

i found the downloads :thumbs

there no mini filter on mine, I had a dig !! (maf on a td non-intercooler ?) & i took the airfilter out !! sob sob...now what ?

i got up this morning on a mission !
1st the EGR valve was checked, all seems well, (good suck & sound)
2nd the turbo hoses all listened to , & loveling caressed , checking for leaks! all well.
3rd Hmmmm no damp spots on floor, no leaks evedent on body or chassis !!

ok....me thinks
Back to the mini filter adventure...ha harrrrr after a double check , there she was...the lil'beaut..

now thouroughly cleaned.....just one problem ...

i have to be careful on the expence of the tyres....due to wheel spining under very responsive accelerator pedal !!:thumb2:clap:bow

HEHEH i know how that feels too, takes some getting use to, go carfull on corners as well... spin spin spin.....
