Hi, had the same fuel/power problems as listed by many. Used the excellent manuals for changing the main fuel filter last week, a small improvement but tried to clean the mini fuel filter today but its missing! Is it needed - would my 95 Ford Maverick have had one, or was it for later models? Does anyone have the part numbers (spring is missing too)? Many thanks

I removed mine on my 1999 T2 (with a drill as it was built into the banjo bolt) as it was partly blocked & have'nt had any probs  there seems to be quiet a few earlier T2's/Mav's with out them & they seem fine

Mini filter

Sweety mate, if I was you I would go back into that banjo bolt and have another look, that filter is removeable.
It is a plastic cage with a wire mesh and can be easily pulled out with some long nose pliers.
If you drilled it, you may have bits of wire or plastic floating about in your pump, plus it is possible that the filter might just turn around inside the bolt under pressure!

Better safe than sorry! :?

Hi Thomas  The ends of the banjo bolt had been criped over by the looks of it & after 1/2 hour trying to get it out as you mentioned with no joy I carefully drilled it out & then spent about an hour cleaning & flushing the swarf out of the banjo bolt untill it was clear. I did this over 8months ago & all has been fine so i'm sure I managed to get shot of all the swarf as my T2 would have told me by now
