I can't get any suspension bolts for my R3mR as they are on back order from Japan so I off to Darley Dale to collect some parts.

Only dealt with them by post before so looking forward to visiting the new premises.

Great visit came back with full Polybush Type kit for all eight rear suspension bushes and pair of rear ARB links with enough change out of £100 to buy me a breakfast & tea in the lay-by cafe near Whatstandwell.

Truck booked in for this Friday to have nearside and offside upper axle link control arms fitted with Polybush type Kit.

The lower link arms will have to wait until next pay day !

Sounds like a sucsesful day out and I hear good things about Milners.

Good Luck.

Alan

they have always been good to me
All parts they have sent have been good and very helpful when ordering:thumb2 good luck

Milner Off Road -

Well fate interviened before Friday came as I had a treadmill tolerence test at Derby Royal Hospital.

Had a mild heart attack half an hour later got out of Hospital yesterday and no driving for a month !

Luckily her indoors organised the R3mR having the bushes fitted so have to wait until I can road test it.

Back in Hopital in a couple of weeks time for some more Angioplasty to sort the problem out.

Blimey mate that's rotten luck. Get well soon and maybe stay of those lay-by breakfasts... :)

Alan

lay-by breakfasts

That made me laugh out loud - the breakfast was not that heart unfriendly !

I am 6 ' 1" tall and at 14 stone 2 lbs not too overweight for my age (62) never smoked, modest drinker, badminton player with no family history of coronary heart disease just unlucky I guess.

Hey but on the bright side I can still blogg !

Really I'm in no position to preach...

I'm 5'11" 17 stone+ and the wrong side of 45...

I'm a bit worried now!!

Alan

I'm not getting involved in this one, Doc said I had to loose 2 stone, over 3 months, so I looked at his chart and told him I wasn't overweight just vertically challenged, if I was 7' 3" I would be ok :lol:lol
Doc didn't laugh, heard it all before.

As we get older we must look after ourselves, we often run around helping the family and neglect No.1.
Will see Doc in October... 2 stone lighter I hope..:augie
Best regards,
Rustic

My Diet

I lost a stone and a half last year by cutting out chocolate completely (Not easy when you fuel up and negociate the chocolate slalome at pit stops) and mid-week beer (winter only). Having tinned oily fish for mid-day meals at work - Sild, Sardines etc from Aldi.

Lost no weight for the first two weeks then just a steady pound each week until I reached my target.

No Gym antics and no real effort on the general exercise front though I do play Badminton every week for an hour and have been doing for the last 18 years or so.

sorry to hear about this matey, i hope you feel better soon. Bit shocking to read you had a mild heart attack, you dont sound unhealthy to me, can they explain to you why you had a heart attack, and have you had one before? could it be stress-induced I wonder? you seem to be remaining positive though, and thats important!

its strange how these things can happen, makes you reflect on things doesnt it. well, take it easy, i wish you a speedy and healthy recovery, and I hope you find the new improvements to your truck good too! never had that done before, polybushes, might think about having mine done when i get the front shocks done!

Not stress induced it was the bloody treadmill test ! (Had to sign a disclaimer beforehand.)

To be fair I have had Agina for four years that has been sorted by having some heart stenting.

I did have a stressful job for 10 years prior to retiring in 2003.

I had some very old fashioned Chemotherapy back in 1987 for Hodgkins Lymphoma that probably damaged my heart as a side effect though its hard to establish facts about my old Vincristin (drug) based treatment regime.

Still I would have died back in 1987 without it and the odds were 30 % that I would not live beyond 5 years with treatment and dead within 6 months without !

A no brainer at the time. I have every confidence in the Cardio Team and hope to last another 10-15 years at least.

amazing, you've done so well, you must be a strong individual. I can understand now (i think) why the treadmill brought about the heart attack, but i dont understand why they did it, if they knew it COULD induce an attack, why put you through it? is it to see if an attack will occur then act accordingly?

medical science can be confusing.

There were some well fit Nurses scattered everywhere perhaps that was the cause me and my imagination !

Theres me thinking nice eye candy - there thinking I look like their Grandad only uglier !
