Righty ho, my turn to ask for some technical help:

Memeory map.

I've finally managed to install the complete? memory map version 5.0.0.0 had the computer guy here from 1000 through till 1530ish, he had to re format my comp from the start (2 years ago) and re install everything on it.

Cos I know nowt about owt, I had programs installed up to 5 times   and had part of memory map installed but not all.

Question now is, I can open it and browse and it seems to have all of UK on in various scales but cannot get beyond this point. How do I go to next stage without ruining it. Do overlays and such - or will this just be too advanced for me?

All replies in idiot proof format please.

Thanks in advance

Quick update: I can now do traces and tracks for the overlay - yipeeee

Map route overlay for next lanes day anyone?

Once again age wins, helped out by a 15 year old. Thanks to Brains, he sorted me in a 5 minute phone call.

Welcome to the 21st century!

By all means e-mail the overlay for next weekends jaunt, saves me having to do it!

If you've got the very latest version it's possible some of us using older ones won't be able to open your overlays, I've found this and got round it before but can't remember how.

My version is 5.0.0.0 and covers all of UK.

Once I've mastered it all I'll be up and away.

Just need a lappy and a GPS dongle thingy now and it can navigate for me 8) I've got cruise control so if I get self steer I can just sit back and watch

Thanks for the discs John, took ages to get my head round them but I'm getting their now.

I've just got to do them yet, was playing at it last night with "imaginary routes" to get the hang of it.

You'll be out driving them later with your imaginary friend then I suppose.

They'll have to be imaginary as I was joining up the dots, bridleways, rupps, footpaths and dreaming "if only"
