What are the significant mechanical differences between the 2.7TDi and the 3.0l which renders it useless for running it on veg?

Don't know why the 3.0 can't run on veg really, just what's been said on here.
The obvious differences are a double DOHC head and timing chain on the 3.0.

I do like to keep my vehilcle's standard, so I don't mind running my 3.0 on diesel, I know bio/veg etc are cheaper than derv, but I would rather pull up at the pump and fill it up, than pouring bottles of veg oil in (my choice)
It's not our everyday car, so not used all the time.

Think it's down to the fuel pump but someone will know for sure

i think its something to do with the direct injection system :nenau

A significant issue is that you are unable to heat the SVO prior to the IP.
Due to the IP having embedded electronics it requires a relatively cool fuel supply in order to protect the electronics from excessive heat.

I'm confused is it cold fuel or hot fuel that causes issues with the electronics?

HOT = problem
the IP needs a relatively cool fuel supply.

Some folks have even fitted a heatsink to keep the electronics from overheating.....

Good picture!!!!!!!!

Does that have any benefits once fitted?
