can anyone out there tell me if my 96 2.7 td maverick is supposed to have a cataletyc converter
cheers.

also why would i have embers flying out my exhaust at 95mph

dont think this engine has ever had a cat fitted in any Nissan/Maverick.

did the engine heat up that much you were igniting the soot?????

Do diesel engines usually have cataletyc converters? I see others have answered your question about whether the Maverick or Terrano engines should have them. Just changed my exhaust and it has only one box, and that could only be a muffler box as it didn't cost enough to be a cataletyc converter. Didn't know the 2.7 Maverick/T2 would do a steady 95mph? Suppose I would be opening a can of worms to ask what is the top speed of the 2.7 Maverick/T2--with or without exhaust embers?

newer common rail and direct injection models often do.....but I'm surprised a TD, with only 100bhp, would hit 95 without a tail wind and a long downhill straight, plus a seriously over-reading speedo
