Hi All.
I need some advice on steering geometry on my 1997 Maverick 2.7 TD.
The good news is that it passed another MoT, but only after major surgery, dismantling the rear end to fabricate and weld in a new N/Side rear body mount plus patch a large section of chassis in same area. Part of the repair included replacement of the front strut bar control arm bushes.
Due to years of wear the actual mounting hole on both sides were enlarged and required a heavy washer close to original hole size welding to the chassis mount before new bushes were fitted.
All seemed good until I note the vehicle now steers slightly kerbside and this is also affecting braking.
Prior to this it drove and braked to reasonable standard considering its age.
I am no expert in steering geometry but my guess is renewing the control arm bushes has altered something but is it just tracking or could it be deeper.
Your thoughts.
