Hi
I have a 98, 2.7tdi maverick with a couple of problems,
It does'nt feel as powerful as it should, fairly heavy on diesel and it sometimes has an annoying habbit of the revs surging up to about 1500 rpm and back to normal tickover speed several times when its started up whether its warm or cold. Its just had new filters. Wondered if anyone knew how to test the airflow meter(hitachi) and where is the cheapest place to buy one if its faulty, ive heard they are expensive.
The other problem is the clutch, the pedal seems reluctant to come back up especially the last inch or so. sometimes you have to help it with your foot under it but only light pressure and the pedal returns to normal height. Has anyone else had this problem? Dont think its the clutch itself as its only 2 months old and the problem was there before.

Don't know about the revs but the clutch pedal has a setting screw/bolt underneath, I had a problem exactly the same symptoms as you described having to put my foot under the pedal to bring it back up into position, but I was lucky the car was under warranty and I took it back to the garage and they fiddled about under the pedal with a spanner, -groovy-
hope this helps you

my clutch pdal kept doing that the problem was a leaking pipe to slave cylender
