Hi there,
I have just acquired a Maverick and will shortly have to change the Gearbox??
3rd and 4th missing - 1+2+5+R all a1 no noises at all
I have all the parts readily available courtesy of another complete vehicle minus the Shell and Chassis!!!
Is there an easy way to remove the box alone? It has 3 crossmembers under whereas my old shogun only had 1 and changing box was a doddle! just wondering if this will come out on the one crossmember(Gearbox mount) or needs the others out also? Has anyone any experience of this who can offer some kind words of advice?
Cheers,
Troy

Hi & welcome :thumbs (go blue :naughty)

I think if i remember from speaking to my machanic mate about changing the clutch...

All 3 need to be removed

But "toolbox" "extreme" or "terranosaurus" will be the best advisors matey.

You need to remove all the crossmembers inc the one connected to the torsion bars a really good design!

remove the one that supports the garbox. unbolt the torsion bar cross member and jack it down an slide some blocks in to hold it down (beets rmoving torsion bars and having to reset them evenly). you only need enough to send the transfer box back enough to clear the pressure plate and front will drop. you can get starter bolts from inside the drivers wheel arch. Iv done 3 clutches and 2 box changes, last one i started at 7am and i drove it out around 2pm. good luck :thumb2

Many Thanks Jimmy! That will be a great help!
Regards,
Troy
