Maverick 2.7td gls 97 Throttle pedal sensor

can anyone please advise on availability of the above part via nissan or ford, from my expirience from local dealerships they are unable to supply me with this part, fords say they no longer have the spec on their systems to identify the part number, nissan says it could be a possible 2 units but are unhelpfull, they wont even consider me in sending the old unit to them for them to send it to their supplier of this part for them 2 marry it up to either 1 of them! has anyone else had this problem? partsgateway and various other 2nd hand part breakers have no stock either. The problem with the old unit is intermittent, it runs but not revs up on starting from cold but can be fine after a few minutes running or it can be a permanent fault remdering the mav useless! So the options I have is to ask here for advice or break the vehicle!

I had the same thing with mine, I got second hand one from Find a part uk. You could also try taking the unit off and taking a picture a picture, then contact breakers on ebay or the net and show them the picture.
Just a idea

i think a few have managed to clean there, not sure how.. have you tryed doing asearch on here about it?

We have one you can have, but before you buy one may I suggest you clean the micro switch which is also on the pedel, ours was doing the same thing and the m/switch was sticking and we had the same fault as yours.

Richard, I am wondering if the throttle position sensor cured your Maverick?

Just a thought - I have an old JCB which has a control lever on the steering column - with a microswitches. Sometimes I cannot go backwards and forwards.

I have found if I spray the micro switches with Force - Electrical Cleaner (has part number X61 500 on bottom of can) this does the trick.
