Was wondering if anyone knew what type of bulbs are fitted in the front map lights ? 501 wedge type ? just i'm wanting to replace them with some LED bulbs as the stanard ones aren't that bright & are quite yellow:( My Son gave me 2 blue LED bulbs for the centre & rear interior lights as they were to big for his car which give a nice glow & quite bright:naughty

501 or T10 I believe - however, I changed mine for LED's and they were less bright than the originals.
I established it was because the LED bulbs are made for forward projection, and as the standard maplight bulb illuminates all round, I was getting less downward light from the LED's than the originals.
I got around it by buying some LED bulbs that had emitters on all four sides plus the front.
I then lined the plastic cover that clips over the bubs with a piece of aluminium foil, shiny side down and fixed with Pritt stick so I could remove it easily.
This plastic cover has holes directly above the bulb to allow heat to escape, but as the LED's give out virtually no heat the fact that these holes are covered isn't a problem.
