Manly steps

Well my manly side steps died & from just road use:lol so had no option other than take them off which TBH makes it much easier for me to get in & out but think i'll need to start carrying the step again for my wife when her back is playing up:augie
I'm sure someone was after 1 or 2 end caps for their side steps so if you still need it/them then just PM me & I can get them into the post for you:thumbs

Just got the front mud flaps to trim back now & might remove the rears like I did on my SWB

What was wrong with them? my driverside one was loose, held with some blobs of silicone and one bolt. I cut remains of the old bolts, drilled through and used coach bolts. Nice and solid steps.

The back & middle bolts that hold the alloy steps onto the brackets had nothing to grip to as the alloy was missing around them wouldn't of cared but they were fine last week. I thought i'd have the pleasure of ripping them off when I go off road:lol

yeah mine had done the same on all but one bolt. its steel against ally :doh

:lol:lol The poor dog has just learned how to jump/climb into the truck & used the steps now they are gone she's going to have to relearn or it's back to me picking her up & chucking her in:doh

I did the same with coach bolts.Simples:thumbs

I took mine off last weekend, had previously tried to use metal filler to hold the aluminum steps to the steel brackets which lasted until i went off road.
Anyway they are tucked neatly behind the shed now, cant belive how much quieter the truck is now without all the rattling.

I used coach bolts on my old SWB steps which were fine on road but off road they ripped through the alloy in no time:augie over the weekend i'll take the end caps off as i'm sure someone asked about some but someone else may end up needing some:thumb2

i find the side steps handy to keep/bounce me off the verges, and for the kids to get in :thumb2. and ,only on a personal opinion, i think the terrano with that plastic down the side actually suit side steps better.

They will prob get replaced with tree sliders in time:thumbs just chopped about 3" off the front mud flaps today as they looked silly long now the steps have gone & the rear ones are getting removed to one I finish off making the blank plates

I too agree with that, I also like the protection it gives, especially in car parks :thumb2:thumb2
