the pipe that the MAF is fixed in on my T2 is clearly marked Bosh (red circle in picture), I wondered if they were all marked?

Since mine says Hitachi I'd say its a safe bet, unless someone has an aftermarket copy fitted....

is it fair to assume that Bosh maf means bosh pump :nenau I have looked at another one today a 2004 lwb (for her indoors) and it also has bosh stamped next to the MAF the same as mine. I thought it might have been an 'age' thing (the car not her indoors) but now you have ruined a perfectly good theory :doh

Nothing :augie
I don'y have 1 :lol
Haven't even got a bloody motor at the moment :doh

well i was going to ask the same thing cos I think it was Timbo what postulated that theory....but I don't know what he based it on though?:nenau But then he's a lot clevererererer than what I am :(

Indeed a Bosch MAF comes with a Bosch VP37 pump, and that part number on the trunking confirms you have a bosch maf.

HOWEVER that part number is NOT that of the maf- it is the part number of the housing and maf as a unit complete.

The maf part number is on the unit itself which is visable ONLY when you have pulled it from the housing after removing the 2 tamper proof screws.

The Hitachi maf has three wires the the Bosch four and the plugs are different.

The Hitachi maf is easy to clean very reliable and expensive. From what I see there are other

makers of the Bosch type maf . regards bri.
