So far I have done one side.
It's plywood covered in chequer plate style vinyl with an aluminium door.

Got most of the stuff that takes up space in the boot in that one side :thumb2

I left the vinyl over hanging and folded it down at the back so there is no visible gap.
The ply itself doesn't touch the glass so there is no pressure on it.

I want to see what's inside, how much space is in there, is the jack still accessible?
Pics?

Good idea :thumb2
That's one thing the Mav/ Terrano is short on... cubby holes.
Under my second row of seats, as well as the jack handle, I have a rigid type towing bar, never used lol, a fire extinguisher, 3/8 socket set, a first aid kit, all very well untill you want to use the third row of seats lol. and people then trample over them lol

I often wondered if you could cut the floor and fit in some under floor boxes, plenty of room under the second row floor. Box could be 6" deep before extending beyond the chassis rails. Just a thought.:nenau

Cool, I thought of doing something similar but not sure wht I would have done at the top, the vinyl makes it look tidy and stops people seeing in, , like it

This is the view from the outside, the vinyl is folded down to form a nice clean line.

Inside there is loads of space. My recovery strops live in the standard jack recess as my bottle jack is too big to go in there.

I do like it but does it cause any structural strength cutting away the inner steel skin/frame.

Nothing on the car has been cut Jim.
I just removed the plastic panel from the boot and built this to fit in it's place.:thumb2

Looks neat mate :) How about a better catch for the door though ? I reckon a good hard left hander will see your kettle swap sides :lol

Just waiting on my rubber bonnet catch things to arrive from eBay as local car shop hadn't got any :thumb2
For now my toolbox is strapped across the front to keep it shut :lol

Got the boot storage finished today :thumb2

A few more eye bolts to add and some clips of some description to stop the removable section from going anywhere and it's job done :thumb2
