Hi guys, I'm hoping this will be a thread to help in the long run.

Basically I would like you guys and girls to post about the wheelbase of T2/mav you have. The good and bad points. So people wondering what one to go for if buying or just curious will have more of an idea of what's the best wheelbase to suit them:thumb2

I know:

Lwb: has more boot/trunk space
Bigger fuel tank
Slightly higher
7 seats

Swb:

Slightly better offroad
Smaller fuel tank
5 seats

Finding a place for the back seats until you sell the truck is a pain. they weigh a lot, take up room and most will never use them. David.

As you know I have owned both, the LWB has loads of room, I get 50% more stuff inside. And striaght line towing at speed is more stable, The back doors are brilliant if you have passangers, folding SWB front seats forward for access is a pain.

But! i did prefer the ride and handling of the SWB ones I have owned :thumb2

I have a LWB

Just been to veiw a SWB Good condidtion we have a grandson it would be harder in and out but we only have him sleep a coulpe times a month wife has a 4 door pug 206 so we would be ok and I would Drive T2 In winter only, Mx 5 for summer lol

T2 SWB blue 53 plate he wants £2,500 80.000mile he said a farmer was looking Monday I will not buy till I feel right

So this a good post

Glen

i prefer the longer wheelbase as its not as twitchy at speed and 7.5" makes little difference offroad

7.5" makes a big difference I'm told :naughty but off road the lwb has a huge arse and that knocks your departure angel to cock. That 7.5" will also spoil your break back clearance too. So for offroading SWB rule :D
SWB is also a bit lighter so really a better power to weight ratio too :thumbs

Here I go Again LWB

Just purchased another Terrano SE 52 Plate all Mot history 44,000

Still got my 97/98 SE Touring LWB Will swap the tyres, wheel cover, may be tow bar the one on 52 looks ugly, Then sell still a good car

You never Know so far so good

Glen

All I can say is I've driven a swb and lwb 2.7 td and the feel basically the same
