LWB springs please

Hi guys I've joined with my cheap as chips ebay special(£222). L reg 2.4 petrol. I've just persuaded some 31 x 10.5 x 15s with nobbly bits to fit. Needed to wallop the metal work a bit!
I've had a quick look round and think I need some LWB rear springs please.
So I can lift it up a bit.
Also mr HUMMINGBIRD seems to be on the ball. Can you tell me what sort of work/cost involved with LPG?

Hi makeitfit & welcome to the club :smile: The LWB springs will lift the back end about 1&1/2" & you will have to wind up the front torsion bars to get it to sit level & to help give you the clearance you need :wink:
 
Do you know, Three times this week members have asked for spares, I scraped one with complete running gear to make space, even had a 2.4 gear box that was ok that no one wanted.
I did remove most parts body wise and do have some bits left, i have posted some out today helping out a member.

I bought mine with it fitted, but from what I know about it it all depends how many miles you do a year really

The problem is the government has only promised to keep the duty on LPG low for so long after that it may go up to the same as petrol/diesil.

A decent system will cost you around (or probably above) £1200, to pay that back even on todays prices is going to take about 2400 litres or about 500 gallons, which even at 20mpg is going to take 10,000 - thats before you start making any real savings.

I think its 2010 when it may change.

The other issue is if you've got a SWB (like me) theres no where to put the tank (other than inside) so they tend to take the petrol tank off fit the LPG one there and then fit an auxiliary petrol tank between the O/S chassis rail and the propshaft, roughly under the drivers seat. This is ok but it only holds about 20l.

With the LWB I beleive there is a specially shaped petrol tank available which sits in front of the LPG but behind the axle and gets you back most of your capacity.
