Lumpy cold start.

When I start the truck even if it has been running a while it seems a bit lumpy and also if I rev it while not in gear a lot of smoke comes out the back.

I have just changed the MAF and this had made a huge difference.

I had a look to see if I had an EGR valve but can't seem to see one... I have a 1999 2.7tdi Terrano...

Was thinking maybe glow plugs but any advice would be nice

Hi, it does sound like the Glow Plugs as mine was struggling now and again to start when not used for a bit and also running Lumpy, so I took them all out and checked them, one was weak and another Duff, now nice and smooth all the Time !
