What is the best way to clean up and lube window & sunroof runners on a T2 that has been sitting for several months.

One of the rear windows and the sunroof motors sound like they are struggling.

BTW the n/s/r window will not work on the center console or door switch, any ideas?

Not sure on sunroof but regarding windows don't be stingy.

Get some silicone spray (or good lube) and I like it as a two person job, get someone to keep pressing up and down (all the way to to and bottom) whilst you spray the sides in the chanels. Mine needed a good lube, I actually did the window faces too, not as messy as you think. Now my windows are smooth :lol

At first when I got the truck I thought the window motors were knackered.

Thanks, another thing to but from Wilco.

Any pointers on this?

When you press the switch, do you get any noise from the door area, could be the window is very gummed up in the channels and needs lots of release fluid.

Could be a damaged wire near the door motor or the motor it's self.
Take the switch off the door and change it with the other side, if it works, you know the switch is not the issue and it's pointing at the motor.

There is no 'trying' noises when you either try the centre console or door switch. Think I will see if there is any little green men getting to the switches or motor, maybe a break as you say.

Try swapping the switches on the doors, at least you know it's defo not the switches, but it does sound like motor/power issues though.

Yeah good idea, they just clip in, although it would be upside down, you would then know :lol
