lost 4 wheel drive

Hi, returned back from summerset after a ten day holiday.The t2 performed brilliantly untill I tried to return the caravan back to where we keep it.This involes backing down a narrow lane with a 90 degree turn up a slippy slope into a spinny. Not normaly a problem in low box, but I found that the 4 wheel drive had stopped working. The light comes on on the dash when selected. Is this somthing to do with the auto hubs?. Can anyone tell me how to check and what to look for, thanks in advance

simples, some people have changed to manual hubs, as they CAN be trouble some to repair.

if you find the fault to be in the hubs iv got a good set that will be cheap iv also got a complete transfer box if needed. cheers:thumb2
