Thought I'd share my stupidity with you all.....

I've got a T reg 2.7 TDi Terrano which has a K&N induction kit and PSi Powerbox.

Had been enjoying the extra power until a few days ago when the power level seemed to drop by about 10-20% which wasn't the end of the world but noticeable.

Checked everything over in the engine bay and could see nothing obvious, so was going to come on here this evening and ask for some advice.

Went out for a sandwich at lunchtime today and noticed that the rubber mat in the drivers footwell was a bit further forward than normal, pulled it back and the power returned. It had rolled up under the accelerator pedal! :doh

I like simple (and cheap!) fixes like this!

Regards,
Ian.

oh dear.. and here was me going to take the psi box off you for a few quid as not working right...

You'd love the powerbox Zippy. I was thinking of giving it away for free at one point...........not!!! :p

It would have been 25-30% down on power without it which would have been very noticeable and a problem!

a pal with a disco had a similliar experience with a foot mat fouling
clutch operation, was struggling with transfer change one day,
thought omg etc cost of clutch/box etc. somewhat relieved when
found was mat, think was one of these chunkier mud mat types.

You can fit the diesel bob box to the Zexel models, if you have a soldering iron and can identify the correct wires...

Yes, it was a relief to be something straight forward and not expensive!
