Looking for t2 number 3

Hi I'm looking to buy another terrano which will be My 3rd one .
Now do I have a good old faithful 2.7manual se or 3litre auto sev
Model . I tow a caravan( 1500kg).i don't want to go greenlaning in it .
I really don't know what to buy . !!! Oh and I have to buy from a deal so I can get it on hp. Budget 5000 quid. Any suggestions guys . Thanks rich:bow

Id defo go for the 2.7 but the 3 litre does have better mpg figures (just).

I have just off loaded a 05 plate, it was rotting in places worse than my 96 plate so take car to watch for rot spots.

Also dont forget Autos dont have as big a towing limit as manuals too.

As Jim says the towing limit for an auto is only 2tn. Because, so I'm told, the gearboxes couldn't handle as much as the manual gearbox so instead of strengthening the box the down rated it. My `van is about 1700kg unloaded and my truck pulls it fine. It's so good in fact, I don't think I'd want a manual. :thumbup:

Which that sort of top price you will have loads of choice & should be able to get a low mileage & one hopefully with very little rust just take your time looking for the right one:thumbs it took me 18 months to find mine after look at over 40 T2's, yes she has a little rust but the boot floor is dry & rear inner arches are still good so is the front x member & sill's
